Bol, Croatia, 11th June, 2021 : In the semi-finals of the tournament in Bol, Rus was better than Romanian Irina Bara with 6: 2, 6: 1, while Paolini knocked out the first seed, Russian Anna Blinkova, with 6: 2, 6: 2.

The first semi-final match was a one-way street. The third seed Italian Jasmine Paolini rushed to the finals with 6:2 in two sets against the first seed Russian Anna Blinkova. We watched two almost identical sets. Blinkova had a series of errors, while on the other hand Paolini seemed confident – when she needed to raise the level of the game she was ready for it. In both sets she took the lead with unattainable 5:0 in gems , and on both occasions Blinkova lined up her two, but it didn’t go beyond that.

“I played a very good match today, I am happy to be in the final. I have played four very good matches in the tournament so far”, said Paolini.

Paolini missed very few balls, kept a consistently high level nad Blinkova as far away from the baseline as possible. Paolini also played in the WTA 125k tournament in Saint-Malo, France, but lost in the final from Switzerland’s Viktoria Golubic. She didn’t play well then, now she will fight to the end.
