            Mumbai, August 18: Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde emphasised that MHADA was providing homes at cost of construction making true the dreams of the common people and added that his government has committed to providing police residences as well as affordable houses to citizens through MHADA and CIDCO.

            Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis launched the lottery of 5, 211 houses to be constructed by MHADA in Pune via an online function. On the occasion, Principal Secretary of the Housing Department Milind Mhaiskar, Vice Chairman of MHADA Anil Diggikar, Principal Secretary of Urban Development Department Sonia Sethi and other senior officials were present.

            Chief Minister Mr. Shinde said that more than 90 thousand citizens had initially applied for the 5, 211 flats to Pune MHADA while more than 71 thousand applicants paid the deposit amount, which was a reflection of the increasing credibility of the state government and MHADA. The Chief Minister also said that out of the flats for which the lottery was held today, three thousand houses were already fully constructed and would be allotted in the next one and a half months, while the rest of the flats will be completed and distributed within one and a half years.

            “Owning your own home is the dream of every citizen, which is being fulfilled through government schemes like the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Awas Yojna and affordable houses are also being provided through similar schemes based on the PM’s initiative.” Shri Shinde said while issuing instructions for speedy and quality work expected from MHADA.

            Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis appreciated the work by MHADA in successfully implementing various housing projects in the state while noting that MHADA has played a major role in implementing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Housing for All’ concept across the state.

            A booklet giving information about the housing scheme was also released by dignitaries on this occasion.
