Mumbai, April 21, 2026:Hyderabad based Research Driven OrganizationResplice Autism Research Foundation, a pioneering healthcare center founded by Dr Chandrasekhar Thodupunuriis first of its kind in India to offer holistic approach towards management of Autism and other neurological conditions. Resplice is truly a research driven organization that specializes in innovative therapies Fecal Microbiota Transplantation (FMT) and multi-omics based personalized treatment for autism, neurodevelopment conditions, gastrointestinal disorders and post chemo gut recovery challenges. Resplice Autism Research Foundationalong with providence microbiome research center registereda research study with ICMR, the study is ongoing, resplice is India’s first institution to offer FMT as core treatment addressing the gut-brain axis that is central to many modern disorders. The ongoing continuous research of Resplice Autism Research Foundation has shown that Autism starts from the womb itself. Hence, to address this increasing incidence of Autism and to completely eradicate it right from the womb itself, Resplice has come up with a prevention program for Autism too.

Speaking about Autism Dr Chandrasekhar Thodupunuri, Founder Chairman, Resplice Autism Research Foundation said “The increasing incidence of Autism over the past 4-5 decades is a major concern, and research on causes and treatments is ongoing. However, delays in making research findings available to the public can hinder progress. For example, research on Autism’s causes was conducted in 2005, but the US government’s MAHA (Make America Healthy Again) report wasn’t released until 2025, and it still awaits WHO or FDA endorsement. In response to these challenges, we a group of doctor parents, established Resplice Autism Research Foundation to address autism prevention and treatment. At Resplice, we are developing antioxidant strategies for prevention before and during pregnancy. For children already affected by autism, we are developing therapies to improve their quality of life, such as fecal microbiota transplant (which has shown 30-40 percent benefit) and a new treatment aimed at targeted delivery of signaling molecules to immature neurons with the potential for 70-80 percent recovery. We are hosting a free gut assessment and microbiome testing camp on April 26, 2026 from 1.00 pm to 5.00 pm at The Mysore Auditorium, 1st Floor, Bhaudaji Road, Opp Kings Circle, Matunga East, Mumbai. I am extremely grateful and thankful to Mr Mangesh Chivate,President, Shiv Sena Medical Help Cell who has accepted our invitation and extended support to Resplice Autism Research Foundation. Organising this camp would not have been possible without the help and support from Maharashtra’s biggest NGO support Shiv Sena Medical Help Cell, Dr Mangesh Pedamkar, Coordinator, Shiv Sena Medical Help Cell and Gen. Secretary, Majha ‘Su’ Sankalp Abhiyan and Mr. Uday S. Chandarana, Managing Trustee of Karuna Seva Trust. All these trusts has joined us in this mission to eradicate Autism completely from this world and not only that support these Autism children who are suffering extensively due to these gut related problems”.

Dr Chandrashekhar Thodupunuri said “Post doing research we have come up with the hypothesis that agrochemical bioaccumulation may be a significant contributing factor in the development of Autism. This hypothesis is supported by studies such as Environmental Working Group’s 2005- body burden study onnewborns and recent discussions in the MAHA report. Agrochemicals can enter fetal circulation during pregnancy and potentially interfere with critical brain developmental processes. This exposure may lead to disruptions in neural microarchitecture during key stages of fetal development.”

Dr Chandrasekhar further said “Hence, addressing agrochemical bioaccumulation prior to conception, along with incorporating targeted antenatal interventions, may offer a preventive approach to autism. Future research should prioritize these areas. Agrochemical exposure may also affect the early development of gut microbiota in children. This disruption is associated with gastrointestinal conditions such as colitis, Crohn’s disease, and other chronic gut disorders, which are commonly observed in children with autism. Over time, these gut issues may worsen and contribute to severe behavioural challenges. Fecal microbiota-based therapies are showing promising results in global research and warrant more extensive and focused investigation.”

Speaking on the Resplice Autism Research Foundation aim, Dr Chandrasekhar Thodupunuri said “Our aim is to bring these concerns to the attention of government authorities and policymakers, advocating for increased research and policy action in these areas. As part of its initiative, the foundation has begun nationwide efforts to assess gut health patterns in children with autism. This includes spreading awareness through the media interactions, awareness camps, and providing free gut health assessments and microbiome testing. The data generated through these initiatives will play a critical role in informing policymakers and guiding evidence-based interventions. Besides, we are also looking for tie-ups and collaborations with hospitals to open FMT centres across the country so that the children need not travel for the therapy.”

Explaining about the FMT therapy, Dr Chandrasekhar Thodupunuri said “FMT therapy will address Constipation, bloating, or food intolerance which are the major digestive issues that many autistic children face. FMT is a medical procedure in which healthy gut bacteria from a donor’s stool are transferred into a patient’s digestive system to restore a balanced gut microbiome. It is used to treat certain gut-related conditions and is being used for its potential benefits in neurological and metabolic disorders.”

Explaining about the root cause of Autism, Dr Chandrasekhar Thodupunuri said “Autism starts right from the womb. Autism has been tied to events throughout pregnancy, including the first few days after conception. Providing a toxin-free environment to a developing foetus can lead to a healthy baby without autism. In order to eradicate autism, Resplice Autism Research Foundation has also introduced a prevention protocols that every pregnant women needs to follow. In this mission, to eradicate autism from birth doctors who are parents of autistic children have left their own profession and have joined hands with Resplice. Dr Kalaramya Marepally, a dentist who was practising in the US, left everything just for her seven and a half years old son, came back to India leaving her profession behind, took the treatment for her son and then post seeing the results have joined Resplice Autism Research Foundation in this movement. This proves the parents trust in the treatment offered by the Institute. So this Foundation is not run by just doctors, it’s also run by suffering and affected parents who are also doctors.
